Back From Sabbatical

Hey Everyone! I am back from my sabbatical. It was awesome to be able to take a month off. During this month I didn’t get much sleep (newborn), but I did do a lot of self-reflecting. I thought (like an Enneagram 5) about my writing, my book, my teaching, my kids, and my wife. Also, I thought a lot about you, my reader. I thought about how I can better serve you, better and more quickly give what you need, give you more channels to interact with me and my thoughts.

Two of the things that I want to explore is the idea of a podcast and a YouTube channel. These are very different forms of communication, so as an Enneagram 5, I have been doing my research, and I will be letting you know when I get closer to releasing any of that content. If you want to keep up with the video and podcasting, you can either subscribe to the more general email list (on the left) or the more specific beta email list (on the right). The difference is that the beta email list will receive fewer regular updates and more burst emails as video and audio content is created.

Give-Away

Returning to the to my book and website. My website turns 1-year-old this month and my blog turns 2! My book is also 6 months old now. I would love to boost the book this month by thanking you, my readers. If you have bought my book I would love to send you a bookmark and postcard (pictured below and as supplies last). Send me a shout on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram). Take a picture of the book and I will reach out to send you a thank you. Make sure you tag me in the post, so I can find you.

Serving you

Finally, in thinking about serving you, I am going to be working on some website updates and functionalities. Also, I am creating several new article series based out of the most popular articles I have written over a few years.

New Enneagram Series

By far the most popular article on my website is this article I wrote while uncovering the enneagram. It has helped so many people. So, I started trying to figure out why it was so popular. The deal is there isn’t a lot of literature out there for my fellow Enneagram 5’s. I thought this was odd because all of us Enneagram 5’s love investigating. Some responses to my article urged me to write more about the Enneagram in general, but I learned I neither had the time, resources, or training to do so.

Here is what I can do. I can write about my own Enneagram 5 journey with all the numbers. So, this is going to be a series of articles coming out as fast as I can about an Enneagram 5’s experience with all the numbers. Obviously this a limited scope to my experience and limited even further to my experience with people. So, here is what I am going to cover, a quick intro into each number, how we heal and hurt each other. Then I am going to imagine parenting these numbers attempting to find how the relationship changes when the parenting dynamic is mixed in.

My hope is that these articles will provide some insight into your relationships. Maybe you are an Enneagram 5 and stuck with someone, and you just can’t seem to get along, or maybe you are stuck with an Enneagram 5. Either way, the point is not to give you the answers. The point is to spark your own imagination is how to build a better relationship with others. Your own creativity and life story matters because every person is unique on both sides of the relationship.

Get Updates in your Inbox

The best way to keep up is to sign up for emails. I created a specific landing page for the Enneagram seekers. You can sign up for all my Faithful Fatherhood emails (above), but I didn’t want to lock you into spam. The only emails you will get pertaining to interesting Enneagram thoughts or tidbits. That’s right here.

If you are reading this fresh here is a great podcast series on all the Enneagram numbers to wet your appetite. If not, it’s still a great podcast to get introduced to all the numbers.
