A Quick Argument for Christ-Centered Parenting

You’re not the perfect parent. Your child is not the perfect child. Lower your expectations and be happier. Also, stop putting so much pressure on you and your kid. Do you know why you are putting so much pressure on your kid and on yourself? Because you and your perfection are at the center of your life. Stop-it. Center your life on Christ, and start doing Christ-centered parenting.

Christ-centered parenting will make the world a lot less personal, hateful, and sad. How? You will not care about other people as much. Social media won’t sting so bad because your jealousy of the other parents with the perfect kid pic will be appreciated because you know how hard it is to get the perfect kid pic. You will be able to enjoy their picture and they will be able to enjoy yours when you share it. (Note: It is impossible to comb my son’s hair right now. That’s why he wears alot of hats. )

It will also allow you to not have to deal with the religion of parenting. Why? You already practice a religion, Christianity. Stick with that Christ part. I recently read two articles (linked below) that expound on the parenting religion and why it is doomed to fail. If the parenting religion is doomed to fail, you might as well pick a religion that will succeed by taking the pressure off of you and your kid.

This article is an argument for Grace from the realm of the secular. I just finished up a Grace series. Here is a link to the first article.
